Didnt decide on the color scheme and proceeded to diy ...
The things I got,
- Plastic Primer (RM$18), bloody rip off for a can of plastic primer which weighs less than half of your normal spray paint
- Laquer Finish (RM$6), got RM$0.80 discount for being a loyal customer to a hardwareshop which is the only one within 10km
- Spray paint (Existing can), somehow decided for pink, wanted some nice color for Chinese New Year and have to avoid red because of the year of the cow, have to show some respect to our Cow bro ...
- Proton Wira Meter Cover, got 3 lying around with not much resell value so took one to experiment ...
P.S. a serious word of advice, do the spraying in a big open area and do not stand against the wind when spraying, i ended up breathing in a lot of unwanted & unhealthy gases.
One tip, when spraying anything, make sure you have spare cans on hand. I proceed with a pink color and less than half can of paint. Almost ran out halfway thru the spraying, because you will want several coats to successfully cover the original black color of the meter cover. I ended up with a dark version of pink than the hot bright pink I hoped for.
Give time for the coats of paint to dry before attempting to put the finish coat of laquer on it. And do not use finger, give generous amount of time to dry or you will regret later on with your visible mark on the cover.
